Information Event October 21st – The Arts Council

The Arts Council wishes to take this opportunity to bring to the attention of traditional arts organisations and practitioners some existing European funding opportunities.

The European Cultural Contact Point (CCP) Ireland provides information, advice and technical assistance to anyone in Ireland interested in applying to the European Commission for funding under the Culture Programme 2007-2013 http://www.ccp.ie/index.jsp?p=101&n=113&a=0. The CCP Ireland aims to facilitate the participation in the programme for the widest number of cultural professionals and operators as possible. They also provide additional information and assistance which might help to establish links and partnerships with colleagues in Europe and beyond.

The CCP Ireland is co-funded by the European Commission and the Arts Council, which houses its offices. Although based at the Arts Council the priorities and objectives are defined by the Commission.

The Cultural Contact Point, in collaboration with the Traditional Arts team are holding an information event in the Arts Council on 21 October from 11am to 2pm.

The Culture Programme provides funding to organisations for Projects and Operating grants.

Project funding is available for trans-national co-operation projects, literary translations and Festivals. Operating grants are available for organisations which operate on a European level.

This information day will address all of the programme’s priorities and will also provide details on funding opportunities relevant to Traditional Arts practitioners under the Culture Programme in 2010.

Facilitating the meeting will be Niamh McCabe and Louise Duggan (Cultural Contact Point, Ireland) along with the Traditional Arts team, guest speakers and previous applicants/recipients.
